Year 5&6 camp

Have you ever been to a camp at your school?. Well I went to camp at my school last week. It’s all about getting to know everyone in team 4.

We had so much fun doing all the activities at camp. We did all sorts of activities like kayaking with Mr Burt and his friends, roller skating and basketball in the hall, the bike track and concert practise with our team. Also Youth town with the youth town helpers and Get lost and Killer zone with Mr Jacobsen.

My favourite part of camp was kayaking because when we got to kayak we kayaked really far but Mr Burt was really scared for the girls because it was a really windy day and he thought that the wind would blow us away. Trendy was the first person to go around the green point and come back .The really funny part was when everybody  fall out of there kayaks.  

My other favourite part of camp was killer zone. But first each teacher had to swap sides so they couldn’t cheat.We had Miss West and the presidents had Miss Scanlan. In Killer zone we had an opponent it was the president's. We had to pick these heavy pieces of wood to get to the other side.

Once we got to the other side we had to start chucking water balloons at the president's when our water balloons ran out we had to run under the tau pollen and do the gumboot throw when we had ten points we ran to this activity where you put a tennis ball in a catapult and launch in onto a mat if the ball lands on it we get two points but if the ball just rolls onto the mat you get one point. We were launching the tennis balls as fast as we could we where getting a lot of points we were hurrying the presidents were catching up and we just got ten points. There was two more activities to go the principals ran to the sponge run we had to fill the sponge with as much water as possible and fill the other bucket until it reached the top we finished all the water and the bucket wasn’t even filled to the top. Then we looked over at the president’s and they were still on the gumboot throw all the principals ran to the ski run to get across the river. We got across the river and picked up our flag waving it around Miss Scanlan ran across recording us on her Go pro.  

I learnt how to be a leader a leader at camp. My first time at school camp was really fun and cool. Thank you to Mr Sommerville,the team 4 teachers,to the helpers and our leaders.
