Weekends

This morning on the 28th my family and I went to my Auckland touch trials. Myself and my sister Maddison were trialing. I trialled for under 12s and my sister trialled for under 10s.

After our trials we went to Crunch Tower. Crunch Tower sells giant freak shakes. Each of us had one of our own.

I got a Nutella ferrero chocolate shake, my youngest sister Leonora got an Oreo shake, my brother got a banana pretzel caramel shake, my other sister Maddison got a crazy chocolate shake and finally my mum got a small Oreo shake.

When we all finished our shakes I felt like I was going to vomit. Luckily when we got home I drank some juice and I didn’t need to anymore.

Response to Text

On our site it said do you think it is a good idea to learn our times tables using songs? Why/ why not? This is my response.

I reckon it is a good idea using songs to learn our times tables because when you learn a song you won't forget it and it's really easy to learn. Also when you listen to Mozart music {relaxation music} it could be easier for you to memorize your times tables and it's manageable.

Music can help you memorize things like your ABC's.

Here is the link to the question. Question. Here is the link to my evidence. Evidence is on paragraph two. Link.

Musical Madness

At last I finally got to see what the new theme was. It was called Musical Madness. Musical Madness is all about music and instruments.

This morning was Immersion assembly and as I walked in Mr Burt, Mr J and Mrs Nua were singing a song that they made up called Musical Madness which is our theme. As soon as everyone was in the hall Mr Burt said “welcome to this terms theme Musical Madness”.  Everyone was cheering and so happy.

After that it was Team 1. There item was all about how music can change how they feel. The team 1 teachers were playing a game of snap and while they were playing there was music. The music kept changing how they felt.

Then it was team 2. I don’t quite actually know what team 2 is learning about. There skit was all about the lion sleeps tonight. All the team 2 teachers were playing different instruments.

After team two it was team 3. They showed a movie all about songs in real life. Team 3 is learning about how they can tell their stories with music.

Finally it was my team. Team 4. The movie played and it was the team 4 teachers doing carpool karaoke in there cars. It was really funny at the end because Mr Jacobsen was singing a cool song in is van while rolling down the window.

Last but not least was team 5. Team 5 is doing a mixture of everything. There skit was watching a movie called the Lion King. Every time Rafiki held simba up the movie would always change music. I can’t wait for this term.

Practice Test Writing

This morning on the 24th myself, room 10 and Miss West went out on the field to act out drama. First up she explained what we had to do. Miss West would pick a subject then we would have to act that subject out.

Then the acting began. The first subject was sport. I volunteered to go first and act out a sport. The sport I did was running. I acted like I was Usain Bolt.

Then Miss West said “freeze Levonah”. When I froze I looked like I was standing in a single ladies position. Everyone was laughing at me so I just laughed myself. After I froze Loseti came in and was dancing the single ladies with me.

Then the subject changed. Every time Miss West would say freeze a new person would come into the act and change the story up. Every scene was funny especially the scene when Amira froze. Then Jedida came in and looked like she was working out in a gym.

Finally it was coming to an end. Then Miss West said “everyone get into groups of three or four and act like someone is taking a picture of you”. Myself, Eden and Pisirina were in a group.

When we went up everyone started to laugh at us. We were getting a little shy but I encouraged Pisirina and Eden to still do our photo. Eden was holding me and Pisirina was posing at the back.

Toby said “ It looks like you guys are getting married at a wedding”. We said “ no Toby it’s not a wedding and we're not getting married”. No one else knew what to say so we told them. “ We’re doing ballet”.

I liked acting out the different things and I hope we can do it more in our learning.
