Summer Learning Journey {Example}

In this activity I have chosen Australia. Here are some things about it. 
  Australia is an island country and is surrounded by the Indian and Pacific ocean. Australians are really good at playing sports like Rugby union, Rugby league and Netball. Australia won the 2013 and the 2017 Rugby league world cup for the Men and Women.

In Rugby Union it's always the Wallabies playing the All blacks. Some times the Wallabies win and some times the All blacks win. My uncle plays for the Wallabies. His name is Sekope Kepu. 

There is no official languages for Australians just English. When people come to visit Australia they would mostly go to Melbourne, Perth, Sydney and Brisbane.

Omg Tech

This morning we had two special people who came to teach us about hour of code. Hour of code is when you code for one hour or you could just code anytime. This picture shows my coding on dream sequence. We had to build our own dream house by typing words and letters. I had so much fun this morning doing hour of code. Here is the link to hour of code.

Blog commenting

This was my blog commenting for this week. The school that I commented on was Kumara school. They are up in the south island.

Flight of the bumblebee

We had to listen to a song called Flight of the bumblebee and draw what you think is going to happen. This song reminds me of my brother getting stung by a wasp in the car. His name is Mitchell.

In this first picture it shows my car on the motorway. My family is on the way to kaitaia. In the second picture it shows my brother sitting in the car.

Right next to my brother is a wasp that looks like a bee. The wasp just stung my brother very hard so he is in pain. He is also crying very loudly because the wasp is still stinging him in his skin. 

Finally the wasp decided to stop stinging him and it went flying out the window. The song has a change in tempo and it sounds like a piano song. It also sounds like the cops are chasing a robber. 

That is what the song sounded like and reminded me of.

Practice Test Writing

This morning on the 24th myself, room 10 and Miss West went out on the field to act out drama. First up she explained what we had to do. Miss West would pick a subject then we would have to act that subject out.

Then the acting began. The first subject was sport. I volunteered to go first and act out a sport. The sport I did was running. I acted like I was Usain Bolt.

Then Miss West said “freeze Levonah”. When I froze I looked like I was standing in a single ladies position. Everyone was laughing at me so I just laughed myself. After I froze Loseti came in and was dancing the single ladies with me.

Then the subject changed. Every time Miss West would say freeze a new person would come into the act and change the story up. Every scene was funny especially the scene when Amira froze. Then Jedida came in and looked like she was working out in a gym.

Finally it was coming to an end. Then Miss West said “everyone get into groups of three or four and act like someone is taking a picture of you”. Myself, Eden and Pisirina were in a group.

When we went up everyone started to laugh at us. We were getting a little shy but I encouraged Pisirina and Eden to still do our photo. Eden was holding me and Pisirina was posing at the back.

Toby said “ It looks like you guys are getting married at a wedding”. We said “ no Toby it’s not a wedding and we're not getting married”. No one else knew what to say so we told them. “ We’re doing ballet”.

I liked acting out the different things and I hope we can do it more in our learning.

What has happened to Miss West

Well I know what has happened to Miss West. Well she is sick of coming to school and teaching that she took a day off and called in sick. Well she actually is out shopping with a few of her friends who are teachers from other schools that called in sick but they’re (not).

I can imagine what they’re doing right now. Going to get a coffee, eating somewhere nice, shopping at the mall, going on the Disney Cruise, spending all her money$$$, flying to America on her private jet, driving her new lamborghini and drinking Unicorn Frappuccino at starbucks with her friends. Then off to Disneyland with Mickey and Minnie mouse, coming back from her cousin's wedding (well she really is) at all the amusement parks she can imagine. Meeting celebrities, scabbing money$$$ off her mum, because she doesn't have any. She is probably having the best day of her life. I mean I would want to do that but not the bit where she is scabbing money$$$ off her mum because obviously my mum wouldn’t give me money. She’s a Islander who wants to save money.

She would also go to the gym and try to get bigger muscles than Mr Moran. She is trying to get a 6 pack of abs. She wants to be stronger than every man in the world so she can be like Hulk smash. When she comes back tomorrow she will look like a giant with to many muscles. Than we will never want her as a teacher again.

Human Knot

The day felt strange this morning. It was one of the hardest things you'd ever imagine. ”This  morning we will be doing a human knot” said Miss West. Human knot! “What what is that?” We all said.

So Miss West put us in 3 groups. There was 10 people in each group. First we had to put our right hand in the middle and grab the opposite person's hand. WE did the same thing for the left hand….

Then Miss West said “go” and we had to untangle ourselves. It was a big struggle so Miss West gave us a tip “talk tell each other what to do” so we tried that and it worked out. Toby told us where to go and Josh just kept laughing and he fell on the ground.

Everybody had so much fun that we just kept laughing until Miss West said “stop”. “Everyone sitting on the mat” we all ran to the mat sitting up nice and quietly waiting for Miss West.
